Bold and Beautiful: Maya's Baby is discussed this week says Karla Mosley

The firestorm that has been burning up the internet since last Wednesday when the Bold and Beautiful dropped their bombshell that the character of Maya being a transsexual have been fueled by the back story of the Maya character.

The Maya character supposedly named Myrna first appeared on the scene looking for her little girl who has been given up for adoption a few years earlier because she was sent to prison.

The viewers naturally asked, how can Maya be a man turned woman and have had a baby?  The anger over the writers and producers of the show thinking the viewers are moronic has been vast and plenty and all over the internet.  To add insult to injury, the show even did a story line wherein Magazine Mogul Bill Spencer brought in the FATHER of MAYA’S BABY, a guy named Jesse portrayed by Ricky Paull Golden to try and make Maya leave Rick so his niece Caroline could have Rick back. 

The show is aware of the controversy and the firestorm and the actress Karla Moseley tweeted on March 20, 2015 that the baby would be discussed on Tuesday.  Hopefully, they will explain all of that so that the viewers don’t feel so insulted.  

The viewers are also concerned that Rick and the other folks involved in this story-line will not be able to have a real reaction because that would not be politically correct.  Whatever happens, the viewers are hoping that The Bold and the Beautiful handle this story-line with delicacy and respect.  Also, it should be noted that The Bold and the Beautiful was NOT the first soap to feature a Transgender story-line.  “All My Children,” did it first and they did it right as the viewers saw the character transitioning from a man into a woman.  It was interesting and well written and while shocking to some, it wasn’t done as a blatant use of the shock factor to boost ratings.

The way The Bold and Beautiful has done this, it is obvious that ratings are their main agenda.
