General Hospital's Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis) takes the heat and is trending big time after last night’s Emmy’s

Nancy Lee Grahn
General Hospital Nancy Lee Grahn is trending after last night’s Emmy’s and not in a good way.  Let's Get Soapy is absolutely positive this is never the way Grahn wanted to trend.

Oh what a firestorm a few tweets can cause as discovered by Nancy Lee Grahn after she tweeted her opinion regarding Viola Davis’s acceptance speech at last night’s Emmys.  Every magazine from People to US Weekly and everything in between are reporting on it, misconstruing it and taking it out of context.

Nancy Lee Grahn is an actress, a single mom and a liberal.  She is anything but racist and the fact that she has been deemed a racist is ludicrous.  Grahn speaks out for all women on all women issues and the color of the woman does not matter at all.   Let's Get Soapy knows this because we spent time with her at a function recently and while she has her opinions on many issues, she is a champion of all women and women’s causes and there is not one racist bone in this woman’s body.  Grahn issued an apology as she realized the way she phrased her comment could have been better and this is what she said:      "I never mean to diminish her accomplishment. I wish I could get her roles. She is a goddess. I want equality 4 ALL women, not just actors," she wrote. "I apologize 2 anyone who I offended. I'm women advocate since I became one. After reading responses, I hear u and my tweet was badly phrased."

A little later Grahn wrote this:  "I apologize for my earlier tweets and now realize I need to check my own privilege," She continued with: "My intention was not to take this historic and important moment from Viola Davis or other women of color but I realize that my intention doesn't matter here because that is what I ended up doing. I learned a lot tonight and I admit that there are still some things I don't understand but I am trying to and will let this be a learning experience for me."

Grahn makes a great point about equality being needed for all women.  That truly was the point she was trying to make and it is the point she tries to make often on her Facebook page and her Twitter account.  It looks to us like this matter should be laid to rest.  Grahn has apologized several times and like the song says it it time to, "Let it go."

EXTRA CASH
Earn cash while watching General Hospital

I am always looking for ways to make extra cash.  I am a mother and grandmother of 10 and I need all the spare cash I can get for birthday gifts and surprises for grandkids.  I found a way to make some extra cash that is legitimate and fun and I do it while watching TV.  I take surveys with this company MintVine and they deposit money right into my Paypal account.  If you would like to try it, I can refer you in by you clicking this referral link.

Have you ever walked through Walmart and seen the signs for the Children's Miracle Network?  This past month I have been exercising, walking and raising money for the Children's Miracle Network.  This money is funded to hospitals for families that can't afford medical care for their children, lodging and other things that need to be paid for when their children have devastating illnesses like cancer.  I have chosen the Children's Hospital in Nashville.  I have until September 27th, 2015 to raise $300.00.  I am at $105.00 dollars now.  This is a tax deductible donation that you can print out when you give to the cause.  Please check out my page on the Children's Miracle Network website regarding the 27 day Challenge and consider giving $10.00.  I have been at this since the middle of August and I am embarrassed to say I have only raised $105.00.  I can't believe how hard it has been trying to raise money for sick children.  http://www.miraclechallenge.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.participant&participantID=8461

  1. Thank you for your blog on this subject. While other media outlets are blowing things out of proportion & fueling the hate towards NLG, you posted the FACTS. She WAS truly sorry. I think we've all misworded tweets before. The woman has a heart of gold!
