Young and Restless Sharon's Miscarriage and subsequent engagement frustration

What doctor gives you this news in a waiting room in public?  

By now you should know that the writers made Sharon have a miscarriage.  Are you as annoyed by this as we are here at Let's Get Soapy?

Young and Restless Sharon’s miscarriage aired today. How many viewers were left scratching their heads?

This is really rubbing Let’s Get Soapy the wrong way.  Were there no FEMALE WRITERS for this episode?  A pregnant woman goes to the hospital with cramps.  The first thing that happens is that she gets an internal examination as well as a sonogram.  Blood is also taken to make sure her pregnancy levels are advancing and not decreasing.   Sage had appendicitis and was in the hospital for over a week but Sharon has a miscarriage that is given a disrespectful 3 minutes of screen time if it were even given that long.  What is wrong with this picture?   

Sharon is heartbroken and suffering alone

Sharon had the quickest miscarriage in soap history.  This was handled so sloppily to what end?  Let’s face it, had this been a normal miscarriage, the patient would have spent several hours in the ER waiting on test results and then either an immediate D & C or she would have been scheduled to come back and have one soon if it weren't a clean miscarriage.  Even if all the fetus washed out, she would still have to have been in the hospital a few hours and told to take it easy the next few days.  

We as the viewers didn’t get to see Sharon in an examination room; instead the doctor told her that she miscarried in a chair in a waiting room?  What the hell was that?

Let’s Get Soapy is rip roaring angry at the way they are handing this.  She was all alone, no support what so ever and she and the audience did not even get a proper goodbye to the almost family that wasn’t. 

Dylan proposes to a shocked Sharon

Instead they rip into an engagement, an engagement that still could have happened had the character of Dylan been at the hospital with Sharon when she miscarried.  He would have told her that he was not asking to marry her just because of a baby.  If he had a ring in his pocket, he was obviously planning to pop the question.  Why couldn't they let the characters experience this loss together and get through it to the other side?  

Are the viewers as rip roaring angry as Let’s Get Soapy about this botched story-line?
