The General Hospital and Jason Thompson goodbye announcement came today via a message through Instagram.
The General Hospital goodbye from Jason Thompson was confirmed today by Thompson himself. Is Thompson heading over the Genoa City Wisconsin?
Jason Thompson took to his Instagram account today to officially let everyone know that he is leaving General Hospital after 10 years as Doctor Patrick Drake.
Let's Get Soapy is thinking about how many times his on screen wife Robin has left the soap while he remained a constant. Kimberley is scheduled to return. Does this mean that the Drake family will be riding off into the sunset together?
Rumor has it that the character will carry on and will be recast but one has to wonder if that is the truth when it has been let out of the bag that both Kimberley McCullough (Robin) and Tristan Rogers (Robert) are returning so there must be something big in the works. Is it the death of Drake that could be bringing them back to Port Charles?
Thompson posted a lovely goodbye to his fan base via Instagram and this is what he had to say.

There is also speculation that Thompson is heading over to The Young and Restless to replace Burgess Jenkins. He has not been a fan favorite since he took over the role from David Tom who was the original teen Billy Abbott who reprised the role after fan favorite Billy Miller left. Miller left a hole that Tom was not able to fill and the soap swiftly removed him and inserted Jenkins.
It has been confirmed by Daytime Confidential that Jenkins is OUT!
Just recently Jenkins has done some of his best work with the Anniversary of his soap daughter’s Delia’s death and dealing with the trial of Adam Newman. Rumor has it that Thompson is in talks with Y&R for this role. Soap Opera Oracle will go one step further and say that with the inferno raging at the Newman Towers, it is very possible that the character of Billy Abbott will risk his life to save others and be burnt severely on his face requiring extensive plastic surgery. This would give Thompson a perfect entrance into Genoa City.
