Young and Restless - Is Neil turning psycho?

So Neil visits Nikki and tells her that he is having fantasies about getting even with Devon and Hillary. 

Then he goes to meet with Hillary to sign the divorce papers and holds the pen like a weapon.  While sitting there with her he is imagining torturing his adopted son and ex-wife.

Then Devon and Hillary leave the A-Club bar/dining room and Neil follows them to the hallway and peers at them from around the corner.  Are the writers turning Neil into a psycho stalker who is going to actually kidnap his ex-wife and son and leave them in a blackened room for days to weeks to teach them a lesson?
